Ryuho Okawa, known as Master Okawa, is an icon in Japan, with more than 12 million followers and Happy Science Centers in 80 countries. As the founder of what is both a religious and spiritual movement, he is also a best-selling author with an astonishing 600 books to his credit. His bestsellers include: The Laws of the Sun, The Laws of Happiness, The Essence of Buddha, and Invincible Thinking. Many of these books are based on speeches Okawa gave before arenas of up to 50,000 people, while others are taken from conversations he has had— both in private and in public—with a veritable “Who’s Who” of Higher Spirits, a diverse group that includes Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Shakespeare, Edison, Newton, Confucius, Socrates and Picasso, among many others. Today, Happy Science has opened Centers in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Tampa. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hawaii, and Toronto. Corresponding with Happy Science’s fairly recent entry into North America, Master Okawa has now released The Next Great Awakening: A Spiritual Renaissance. The Next Great Awakening begins with a recounting of Okawa’s personal awakening. He explains why the “Real World” is not what we see with our limited senses, and shares “The Truth” about alien visitations in this New Space Age. One chapter also consists of verbatim conversations with four Higher Spirits: Enlil, Athena, Confucius and Rient Arl Croud in which they offer sage observations and predictions. In this new book Master Okawa described the New Space Age and one that will ultimately see an influx of alien visitors, an end to war, and the beginning of Utopia on Earth. Okawa convincingly explains why Earth, of all the planets in the Universe, is destined to become the “Planet of Love,” and why we must wholeheartedly welcome extraterrestrial beings. Extraterrestrials have in fact long lived among us, Master Okawa reports, with many more preparing to visit. Those here now, and those yet to come will publicly declare themselves once we are able to stop all wars and other forms of violence against each other and against the Earth itself, he writes. Explaining Happy Science, Okawa describes it as a non-denominational religious movement that warmly welcomes all races and creeds. Backing up his claim are the testimonials of followers from around the world, who report that their belief in and commitment to the teachings of Master Okawa allows them to “experience miracles every day.” For more information on the book and on Happy Science, visit www.happyscience-usa.org

A Fascinating Book

The Next Great Awakening
A Spiritual Renaissance by Ryuho Okawa New Atlantis Books 2011

________________________________
This is a wonderful book which explains how the earth is destined to
become the Planet of Love in a New Age. Okawa has 12 million followers
in 70 countries. He is believed to be the reincarnation of Buddha.
He has regularly filled stadiums of thousands in Japan and elsewhere.
Okawa states that it is the role of Buddha consciousness to systematize
God's teachings and disseminate the law of the mind across the planet.
The concept of a Utopia is right thinking and unconditional love.
The seventh-dimensional realm in the "Real World" is inhabited by
people who love and nurture others freely and without preconditions.
An ideal society begins with an image of it in your own mind.
For the past two decades, Okawa has taught that our true identity
is not a physical body but rather an invisible soul. I adhere to this
concept because it is inconceivable that everything we know
just disappears when we die. Humans have a vast DNA network
that serves as a virtual blueprint for life and its continuation.
William Paley states in his "Natural Theology" that
complexity does need design; therefore, there must be a G-d or
a Divine Being. Dr. Benjamin Fain believes in a similar notion.
The concept of a Supreme Being permeates Christianity,
Judaism, Islam and other global religions. If we acknowledge
the existence of a deity, the next logical question is as follows:
Who created the deity ?
Okawa believes that the human body has undergone many different
forms. There was the Atlantean race, the Lamudian race and many other
humans, a good many of whom looked quite different from the way
humans look today... Among the civilizations that have perished long
ago, such as Atlantis, there were very small humans,
as well as giant ones.
The author believes that Venus was the site of the first life
some 5.5 billion years ago. Eventually , a race of Venusians
was created. The race resembled humans with an IQ of
approximately 300.
The paradise created on Venus exuded love, wisdom,
self-reflection and progress as the ultimate learning modality.
Surprisingly, there can be no progress without an honest
self-reflection, wisdom and love as conditions precedent.
Practically speaking, this learning modality has applicability
everywhere on earth and the Middle East in particular.
The book has some excellent arguments for the design of our
solar system. Future space exploration will confirm or refute
Okawa's arguments. We know that Saturn's orange moon Titan
has hundreds of times more liquid hydrocarbons than all
the known oil and natural gas reserves on Earth.
NASA's Cassini spacecraft)
The hydrocarbons literally rain from the sky. Vast deposits are
collected in lakes and dune formations. Practically speaking,
commercialization is decades away. Nonetheless, Saturn's Titan
has the potential to become a permanent game changer later
this century and thereafter.
"Titan is just covered in carbon-bearing material, it's a giant
factory of organic chemicals," says Ralph Lorenz, Cassini radar
team member from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics
Laboratory. "This vast carbon inventory is an important window
into the geology and climate history of Titan."
Saturn's Titan has significant liquid hydrocarbons.
The inherent design of this portion of our solar system may
have the energy needs to leapfrog to other solar systems
unbeknownst to us right now. Look up in the night sky.
Note the thousands of stars and other heavenly objects out there.
Now ponder whether or not the earth is the only intelligent life.
You must conclude that there have to be other
forms of life out there. We just haven't discovered them yet.
In summary, Okawa brings up notions that could have a
revolutionary impact on how we operate on earth- well
into the foreseeable future. Perhaps, his musings will result in
a new Middle East once the ideas contained in this book take root !

peace + love = Happy Science?
By Susan G. Ravagni
Reviewed by Susan Ravagni, Author of I'm Just a Girl
While America been has been mucking along with our same old religions, something's been brewing overseas. A voice has been emerging and growing in strength - Ryuho Okawa. He has a new world religion called Happy Science.
If you're anything like me, you might have cracked a smile at the name and thought, "You've gotta be kidding." I admit, I can be a bit of a smart aleck. My second thought was, "Happy Science: religion brought to you by Sesame Street." Well, in less than twenty five years Ryuho Okawa, called Master Okawa by his devotees, has amassed an impressive 12 million followers. So maybe we should take a closer look at what has caught the fascination of 12 million people.
I set my cheekiness aside and dug into Master Okawa's latest book, The Next Great Awakening.
Ryuho Okawa begins with a short back-story on how he ended up doing what he is doing today. In the early `80's Okawa was a working stiff on Wall Street when he started experiencing his awakening. This took the form of messages from Higher Spirits. For a while he kept these to himself and worked on confirming their authenticity. For 6 years this continued until he got the clear message to begin sharing. He quit his job and founded Happy Science.
The stated goal of Happy Science in this book is to bring about a utopian society. This is done through love and self-reflection. Okawa then takes a left turn out of the more Buddhist-type teachings to discuss what he calls the "Real World" or the "Spirit World."
The condensed version of the Real World is that there are numerous dimensions. Beings from the ninth dimension wanted to populate the worlds and did this complicated splitting-diffraction thing until they were able to incarnate into bodies. Apparently though, they can still maintain a higher self/spirit group. The name of the group in charge of Earth is named El Cantare. Okawa is part of this group.
At first I thought incarnating but still being a spirit seemed schizophrenic until I realized this concept is found in Christianity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - separate yet one. So who am I to criticize?
The next section of the book has transcripts of "conversations" with spirits. Okawa distinguishes this from channeling but I'm not sure what the difference really is. While channeling (for lack of a better word) may not be considered mainstream it might have its place. The only way I've ever been able to assess the likelihood of an authentic message is to consider whether the "voice" of the supposed channeled spirit seems to keep in character. So if you're still with me, here goes....
The first spirit to come through was Enlil. If you're familiar with Zecharia Sitchin's work you will recognize that he's one of the guys from the planet Nibiru who did some domination business on Earth a long time ago as recorded in the Sumerian tablets. He seemed pretty snotty and I thought that if he did exist, this is probably true to form. He's not the nicest guy. He basically said we are brats and should be spanked.
The second spirit was Confucius. I don't know a lot about him so I can't comment on the seeming authenticity. The upshot of his message was that we need to unite politics, education, and religion. I either just heard George Washington and Thomas Jefferson turning over in their graves OR getting out their celestial muskets to go kick some Confucius butt.
The third spirit was Athena. Ah, finally a woman. However she was the goddess of war and she certainly did still seem to have that mindset. She spoke about protecting Earth from alien invasion. Much nicer than Enlil, I would say.
Lastly was Rient Arl Croud. Never heard of him. The only hits on an internet search turns up Happy Science. So I can't comment. His message is that Earth's destiny is to be a planet of love. We can realize this future by following the teachings of Happy Science.
We will probably be seeing more of Master Okawa. While some of the particulars in his book might be a slightly outside of our day-to-day reality, the message is one of peace, love, and enlightenment. Something we can all use a little more of.

Optimistic but Contradictory
By Kevin L. Nenstiel
Ryuho Okawa's Happy Science seeks to harmonize world philosophies into a unitary religion and build utopia. Which, on balance, is something I can support. But instead of bolstering that goal, he starts plundering the writings of Whitley Streiber, Graham Hancock, and sixty years of UFO cults. I wanted to like Okawa's philosophy, but he mostly referenced his other books, then talked about how humans and gods are descended from aliens.
After a brief memoir of how he started receiving messages from divine souls in 1981, Okawa admits he's withheld talking about aliens and their role in human society because he didn't want to muddy his movement's good name. That's understandable. So why, when he finally does talk about it here, does it resemble less a religious or scientific breakthrough, and more a rejected treatment of an X-Files episode? It's disappointing.
The heart of this book is a string of conversations with souls who have previously come to earth as the Sumerian god Enlil, the Greek goddess Athena, the Chinese thinker Confucius, and the Incan god Rient Arl Croud. These four figures contradict each other: war is bad, except when it's not. Aliens will stop our self-destruction, except we should have died in World War III. I can't keep everything straight.
Happy Science claims Okawa has written over 500 books, most of which have never appeared in English. If most are like this one, they're very short, and you can read each in one committed evening. But this book is no place to start. I have no problem reconciling religion and aliens. I believe in both Christ and quantum electrodynamics. I just can't make sense of this well-meaning but busy mishmash.
