Mark S. Reinhart works both as a Media Services Consultant and a musician in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. He has written for The Lincoln Herald and presented a number of lectures on the subject of Lincoln-related film and television.

Interesting book, but repetitive

The idea for this book is a good one--Batman is such an iconic character, and has been interpreted in very diverse ways on film. The author is quite knowledgable on Batman history, and is quite opinionated on his thoughts regarding the various film makers and their contributions to Batman (good or bad). I only had two problems with the book:

1. The introduction is lengthy and quite good--the only problem is that most of it is repeated in the chapters on the various films. That's a lot of padding for a $45 book.

2. There are VERY complete summaries of each of the films--the author should have assumed that anyone willing to pay $45 for this book would have enough familiarity with the storylines of each, and would rather have more pages devoted to critical essay on them. The book would have been better served by expanding the topics to include the animated films.

In short, I commend the author for taking the initiative to write and publish a book like this--I hope if he publishes a future revised edition to include the new movie he takes some of these ideas into account.

Lots Of Useful Information

I purchased this book because it offers a full analysis of the 2 Batman serials. I got more than I bargained for. Reinhart has done a great job researching these films. But at times it seemed as if he really enjoyed criticizing and bashing the Batman and Robin serial. No the serials are not as good as they could have been. But they were the first time Batman was adapted to the big screen. I also enjoyed Reinhart's review of Batman(1966). I even think Lee Meriwether made a sexier Catwoman than Julie Newmar! I do wish Lee had done the tv show too! I also enjoyed the chapters on the 1980's & 1990's features as well as Batman Begins. I do hope there will be an updated future edition to include the Dark Knight. A must read for Batman fans everywhere.

Comprehensive Reference Source

I used this book to research the two Batman movie serials made in the 1940's. I found it to be loaded with valuable information about not only the serials, but ALL of the Batman live action movies released between 1943 and 1997. I highly recommend this book to serious Batman fans.

Her topics range from "The War on Black Women", to "The Scientific Intervention in Our Affairs - Surviving a Genetically Modified Society". She is most well know for her consistent blogs dealing with social injustices & shedding light on the plight of Black America. Her articles & interviews have been featured in websites such as Uganda goes online, World News, Your Black World, and lipstick alley. She has become a major force on social media, using her voice to implement programs to financially assist business owners, as well as privately owned and operated schools. ZaZa started teaching at-risk youth in California in 2010. Being a witness to oppression, inequality, poverty and social injustice is what inspired her to begin her journey. She hopes that readers will come away with a better understanding of the who, what, when, where, why and how's - that have aided to the reality of modern Black suffrage. EYE OPENING!!!

I have read this book and it is AWESOME!!! In this age of social media, we as black people sometimes forget the basics. We neglect our health, we are out of touch with nature, and we just aren't aware of what is going on around us. This book sheds light on subjects like what chemicals are in the foods we eat and what poisons are in some of these shots and vaccines that we take everyday. This is a must read for anyone that wants to be informed about what is happening to black people around the world. I can't wait for volume two!!!

learn about the fundamentals of animation

As an animation teacher, I went through a lot of books as support for my 2D class; this one is on my top list and I would recommend it to any animation student new to the field who want to learn about the process and the principles of animation.

The book is clear, with beautiful illustrations. Many animation books use styles that often turn me off as being too cartoony or dated but this one is very appealing. Each chapter is well documented with simple explanation and visuals. I was particularly impressed by the clarity of the layouts and X.sheet section, as those are usually a nightmare to explain to students.

It offers a wonderful overview of the fundamentals of animation and covers all the aspect of the profession, from storyboard to animating to editing. Even if this is about hand drawn traditional animation, those principles can be applied to 3D and computer animation.

Excellent work by an exceptional talent!

As an animation artist, I am familiar with the author's work and eagerly awaited the arrival of this book. It did not disappoint!

It is good for beginners and seasoned veterans alike. The sequential animation drawings - along with their respective numberings and spacing charts - are worth more than the price of the book. They are an excellent way for the student of animation to see how the drawings are spaced to provide the true 'spark of life' so necessary in the success of the animated image 'coming alive'. The book ranks up there with the Preston Blair books, Thomas and Johnston's ILLUSION OF LIFE, and Richard William's THE

ANIMATOR'S SURVIVAL KIT. The chapters on Storyboarding, Layout and Background, along with many other animation gems, are there as well. A true tour de force!

A Real Sleeper and a Must Have

This book can only be classified as a real sleeper, it is part of a series of art books that normally would not be thought of as being "must have" titles for aspiring animation artists. This particular book is in the same catagory as Richard Williams "The Animators Survival Guide". It is a serious insider text on traditional 2D animation production techniques and animating specifically. Anyone wanting to learn 2D animation or studying 3D animation will be glad they added this title to their library. It covers all aspects of traditional animation production and is packed with knowledge.

This sweet book of tweets is one of the best books of tweets I've ever read!

This is one of the five or six best books of tweets I have ever personally read in my life. I spend a lot of time on Twitter, maybe ~ 7-8 hours a day, so I've read millions of tweets. When I'm not tweeting myself and not reading others tweets online, I'm reading books of tweets like this. And so I consider myself an experienced tweeter and reader of tweets, and I can say without qualification that these two young writers (one is really young, the other about ten years older) have compiled their favorite and best-loved tweets on many everyday subjects (drugs, relationships, boredom, odd things, drugs, etc.) and yet they make them come alive with good writing and hard work. They put a lot of thought into this book. You can basically read it starting on the last page and going backwards to the first page, and you'll still enjoy it. This is one great book of tweets. I like that they are specially selected, too.

Funny guide to change our behavior

Physically is a medium size book, with less than 100 pages. The letter size is good enough for easy reading. That is to say, the book has good quality.

The book tells a short tale. Although is a short story, you can find a deep description of "men" perception about changes. I would recommend you to read it slowly in order to avoid missing parts or messages that you can find on it.

The story is an analogy between the knights and the modern men. In fact, I think it could cause different feelings for men and for women. I am not sure but I think that the book will be more interesting for those who have difficult in changing than those who are willing to change. But for sure both will enjoy it.

This book is for everybody. I recommend it specially for those who find it so hard to admit their own responsibility or try to avoid circumstances where will need to accept mistakes . You will find that it was too hard for the knight to change his habits as well as it could be difficult for modern men to changes his attitude.

Since the knight tale could be also a metaphor for actual men, keep your mind open if you wish to read it. You could be reading my comments with a critic attitude to find mistakes on my "rusty" writing (and I would appreciate them since I am trying to improve my writing), or under a shining armor.

Excellent book especially for NP students

I found this book to be an excellent resource. I'm a FNP student that hopefully will finish my MSN in June 2009. I couldn't stop reading it since it arrived. This is a book that should be included in all NP curricullums and introduced in the first year of the education program. As I read it I would think about situations that were very similar to the ones I have found in my clinical rotations until this moment. It also gives you a sinthesis of each condition that is explained in the book. The author did a great job including guidelines and statistics through each chapter.

"Unforgettable Faces", Worth Reading

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner student at Columbia University and I just wanted to let others know that I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm not quite done with it yet but it travels with me on my commute into NY on the train and I read it every chance I get. After reading the section on 'Confessions of a Smoker', especially about Mr. Svelton, I try to encourage smoking cessation to all the patients that I see during my clinical, who smoke. As a student I appreciate the style of questioning and I try to use that during my history intake. This book was recommended reading for my FNP program and I've been telling my colleagues about how great it is and I know that they will benefit from reading Unforgettable Faces also. Wishing this book great success. Let me know when the FNP author comes to NYC so that I could get her to sign my book.Thanks for sharing and writing such a wonderful book. :-)
