Overall a good investment for a future in personal training

Coming from a medical background, I believe this guide has all the material required to ace the ACE personal trainer examination. The scientific material is accurate and up to date. The book also guides you about the business aspect of personal training and how to approach prospective clients. The content of this study guide is laid out in a well written, organized manner. Charts and diagrams make the material more interesting and easier to digest than flat out text. The manual also has practice material and even a full length practice test to gauge your readiness for the exam. Overall a good investment for a future in personal training.

Comes with prep tests!

My fiancé is connately debating on getting his personal trainers license, so I thought that I would go ahead and purchase this product so that he could get a better idea of what he would be learning within the certification process. He has completed the included practice tests and is now very confident that he would be able to gain certification and even more confident that he would love being a personal trainer. Practical and Well Organized

This was a very helpful study guide for the ACE personal training exam. It is organized really well and it very easy to follow. They have really picked out the most pertinent information and put it all in this study guide.It not only has the textbook and technical information, but also has some great hints about observing your clients. You can tell that this was written by trainers that work with clients on a daily basis because of how practical the information is. It also has really helpful illustrations and diagrams that really helped me to grasp further grasp the concepts. It has a practice test at the very end with 150 questions. I like that in the answer key they don't just give you the answer, but actually explain the answer. I would definitely recommend this study guide if you are looking to pass the ACE exam.

A Treasure Chest for the Travelling Surfer

This book proved to be a very valuable resource of valid and accurate information pertaining to surf spots I have visited last summer in Europe. I surfed northern denmark and germany, and even though these are not very common surf spots, the book had information about spots, and it was a great help. This book not only attempts to provide information on the surf-quality of the particular spot, it also gives a little bit of insight in the surf culture of the area and other information and tips that might not seen obvious at first glance but does prove to be very interesting and worth reading. Unlike atravel agent's brochure it is very unbiased and allows surfers to travel "their way". In Planning my surf trip to France nex summer, this book gave me a place for reference and also allowed me to "float" around in it, checking out this spot or another. The thousands of photographs give the spots a face, making the book not only informational but also very entertaining to read. It lets the reader dream of a perfect vacation and then proves a very valuable tool to realize that dream and turn it into a reality.

This is the most awesome book on surfing Europe imaginable, covering all the best spots (and then some) from Scotland to Italy, from the Azores to Germany, and everywhere inbetween! Surf in Amsterdam? You betcha! It also includes Morocco. It is full of incredibly professional high-tech, accurate maps, pictures, write-ups, and gauges a variety of conditions for each spot- such as water temp, crowd factor, quality of wave, direction wave breaks, power of wave, ocean (break) bottom, what sort of rubber you'll need, etc. Since you'll notice that Amazon is often out of stock on this, or that it takes '3-5- weeks for delivery', I recommend surfing to Amazon.com's UK site (amazon.com.uk) and ordering directly from them in England- you'll pay a little more for shipping, but they usually have it in stock and you'll be sure to get your copy sooner. Professor Lange needs Banyon’s help because one of the stones has been stolen from a ranch in Nevada. She needs it back as proof of her theories.
Banyon and his new team members race to the ranch to investigate, but soon find out there multiple suspects in the thief and an incredibly determined villain who will stop at nothing to own the ranch.

Entertaining

The Phoenician Stones

Book 14 in the Colton Banyon Mystery series

Once in a while I let myself be entertained by sci-fi action novel and no better move than to choose one from the Colton Banyon series. The story is wacky enough to be captivating and yet not too ridiculous to lose interest, well at least most of the time. “A Dubious Race” excels in offering a tad of history along with a thrilling mystery.

Not all the books are equal but this one makes good marks for having kept a steady pace and injecting unpredictable curves throughout. The race to secure the stones is the highlight in this far-fetched story around who may have first discovered America, an adventure filled with action and there is a lot of it. Unfortunately what still bug me after so many novels are the macho and dimwit characterization of Colton and his team of overly sexed women. They are right out of the past century and need to be worked over and brought to date, they are not funny anymore. Having said this, I nevertheless keep reading their escapade. After all, this fantasy works well if you let your imagination travel with the flow, don’t take it too seriously especially with talks of Freud-a-sizing aspects and enjoy it for what it is.

“A Dubious Race” is an entertaining novel and I am looking forward to letting myself be transported into another sci-fi fantasy soon.

I have been given this book for a fair review, as I am a follow of the Dubious series. Colton is back with the team with Phoenician's stones, this time Lisa Lange comes back with a new mystery for Colton. Buried in paper work, Colton reluctantly accepts Professor Lange's request to look into a few stones.

A few history lessons after, Colton and his team finds that these stones not only are part of history, but also key to unlocking one of the greatest mysteries of all time: who are the Phonicians?

The authors have managed to create a race in time between Colton versus thieves in securing the stones, one determined to protect, the other wants to rule the world. Where is Professor Lange's stand in all these?
With the help of the Cherokee ranch owner, the team at Law offices of Dewey & Beatem manages to again save the day, without anyone the wiser. The ending will shock, and you and I will be glad that there is a selfless Colton Banyon on the job, together with his hot and skillful team.

What could have been...

Another adventure mastered. Reading Mr. Kubicki's Dubious series is everything that makes reading fun and makes having to write reviews slightly less painful. I love reading, but when it comes to writing reviews I am less confident; it hardly seems right reviewing the writings of people doing a job I haven't the courage to do. Mr. Kubicki has come to be one of my favorite authors thanks to his Dubious adventures. This adventure falls right in line with the rest of his books. It starts with Colton Banyon and his very eclectic family, then we meet the bad guys and the â adventure is on its way. Despite the recipe I just hinted at, I am never sure of where the story is going to take me out how we are going to get there.A Dubious Race is no no different and at times much more exciting than previous novels. With hidden artifacts in one place and a new energy source in another young man whose is in danger, spies, and military hardware and jets, it is a truly amazing read. I can't wait to read more.
